This pastor couple will lead a workshop on how to think creatively about growing the church outside of Sunday mornings. Since 2020, many churches have seen growth in digital engagement, but continue to operate with a focus on Sunday morning as the primary gathering opportunity. Yet experience shows that much growth happens in the connections to church that occur at other times.
How can churches structure themselves and plan strategically for growth outside of Sunday mornings? What opportunities are there to reach people in new ways, both digitally and physically, and what key changes will help church leaders embrace these opportunities? The workshop will be based on workshops that Jevon and Nicole have given to annual conferences and other gatherings of church leaders, as well as their reading of the Joseph story that they draw upon in The Big Picture.
Jevon serves at St. Luke’s as the Teaching and Digital Engagement Pastor, where he led the development of a multi- platform virtual community of faith in the midst of Covid-19. He shares these strategies as an adjunct professor at Christian Theological Seminary, focusing on equipping pastoral leaders for strategic digital ministry. Nicole serves in a key role for this topic as Mobilization and Outreach Pastor, led on St. Luke’s antiracistindy.org, and leads an exciting women’s ministry and popular podcast.
Our mission is to provide quality, practical tools and training to clergy, church staff, and volunteers who share a passion for strengthening churches.
